To start any project on the right footing, you need to have robust, reliable information at a local level. Resi:Intel is a decision support tool for anyone involved in residential property; new home developers, property consultants, housing associations, estate agents, financial businesses or managers of large re-sale or letting portfolios.
Resi:Intel has been developed by the experienced Data & Research team within the Digital Property Group (DPG). Combining data from across the DPG portfolio, Land Registry, Acxiom and Government data, Resi:Intel delivers robust data on the sales and rental residential property markets, at a local level. The interface is designed to allow clients to analyse local trends and easily extract the data into a variety of formats.
The key data metrics include:
- Asking prices
- On-market stock volumes
- Gross rental yields
- Local area information such as demographics, income, tenure, crime, transport etc. etc.
- Transaction volumes and transactional prices
- Supply and demand profiles
- Affordability and shared ownership calculators
The majority of this data can be analysed at a local level (e.g. SW19), by property type, by bedroom count and as you would expect, trended over time.

Methodology:
In February 2012 alone, Resi:Intel incorporated over 1 million sales and rental property listings and activity from over 10 million property searchers. However, before any data is released to clients, it is processed via a mix-adjusted statistical procedure that has been independently developed by Calnea Analytics, the company who produce the Land Registry’s House Price Index. DPG chose Calnea to ensure that the data was analysed to the highest possible standards by a company with an outstanding track record in the analysis of house price information. This same robust process is also used to deliver DPG’s Property Indices to avoid volatility and confusing patterns. The latest edition of each Index can be accessed here.
